As the one and only member of the LLC (so far) all duties and responsibilities are mine. This means everything from buying and selling property, obtaining financing, keeping the books to tearing out flooring, walls and ceilings, replacing old fixtures, and doing total remodels. All this in addition to day to day repairs of everything from the roof to the crawlspace and everything in between. I also take care of all collections, credit checks and counseling. Everything.
Providing quality, affordable housing for everyone is the motto of Phalanx Enterprises. The company incorporated on August 25, 2008 and now has 20 plus properties.
Computer Skills Used
- Use MS Word for letters and documents.
- Generate invoices using MS Excel.
- Create personalized pdf forms in Adobe.
- Use Internet to verify tenant background info.
- Create, scan and email forms to business associates.

- Clearly communicate business plan to bankers.
- Provide accurate information for budgeting.
- Maintain good relations with customers.
- Balance project budgets within limits.
- Properly maintain properties to manage costs.
- Schedule outside contractors when required.
My maternal grandfather was a carpenter and my mom picked up a lot from him. Dad
was always a total do-it-yourself guy and between the two, I learned how to do a
little bit of everything in building or remodeling a house. In high school and college
my studies and interests focused on accounting and business management which gave
me the base for handling the “paperwork” end of running a business. The business
is doing very well now and the future looks bright.
